Why Set up Zingly with Fergus

Zingly automatically turns completed Fergus jobs into Facebook and Instagram posts, then publishes them in seconds - helping tradies stay visible without extra admin.

Before you connect Fergus

Before connecting Fergus, complete the Zingly setup first:

Zingly Setup Guide

This makes sure:

  • you log in with the correct Facebook profile
  • your Facebook Page access is ready
  • posting is enabled in Zingly
  • your subscription and Fergus connection are created under the right Zingly account

Step 1 - Open Fergus setup in Zingly

In Zingly, go to:

Menu -> My Account -> Connect with Fergus

Fergus integration is available on the Zing Up plan.

If you are not already on a paid plan, upgrade to Zing Up first.

After upgrading, open the Fergus setup screen again and choose your automated post settings, including:

  • shorter caption on/off
  • emojis on/off
  • review before posting
  • post expiry window for items waiting in review

Then click Connect Fergus.

Step 2 - Generate your Fergus PAT token

To connect Fergus, you need to generate a Fergus PAT token.

Log in to Fergus using an owner or admin account. This is recommended if you want Zingly to access jobs created by your team.

In Fergus:

  • Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
  • Go to ⚙️ Settings
  • Click Integration Centre from the left-hand menu
  • Find Fergus API under Technology Partnership
  • If you cannot find it, search for Fergus API
  • Click Generate PAT

Copy the generated PAT token.

Step 3 - Connect Fergus in Zingly

Return to the Fergus setup screen in Zingly.

Paste the Fergus PAT token into the token field and click Connect Fergus.

That's it - your Fergus connection is now ready. Once connected, Zingly can start preparing posts from Fergus jobs marked for Zingly.

Step 4 - Tag Fergus jobs for Zingly

To send a Fergus job to Zingly, add:

#zingly

to anywhere in the job description in Fergus.

This tells Zingly to prepare that job as a social post.

For best results, include a short description of the work completed.

You do not need to add the suburb or location in the job description. Zingly automatically uses the Fergus site address for location context.

Example

#zingly Installed new downlights and upgraded switches.

Another example:

Completed switchboard upgrade and safety check. #zingly

Once the job is completed, Zingly can prepare the post for review or publishing based on your settings.

Privacy protection

Zingly automatically removes private details from job information before creating social content.

This includes customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, exact addresses, access codes, invoice details and private customer notes.

Zingly uses the Fergus site address for location context, but it is designed to avoid publishing exact private address details in the social post.

For better posts, keep job descriptions focused on:

  • the work completed
  • the job outcome
  • customer-safe details
